Claudette D. Beyer directed HTRI’s relocation from California to College Station, Texas (TX), USA (1989 – 1990), the construction of the first Texas-based research facility (1990 – 1992), and the first office building owned by HTRI (2000). That same year, HTRI established an office in Guildford, UK. In 2007 construction of the first wholly owned corporate headquarters began. HTRI was the anchor tenant in the Navasota (Texas) Business Park, purchasing nearly 28 of 70 acres. In 2008 Beyer approached the United States Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice as a friendly party to an anti-trust charge, ultimately leading negotiations for an alliance with Honeywell. Ongoing focus includes product acquisitions, collaborations, and expanding ventures leading to more diversified offerings, capabilities, and corporate growth. Beyer’s career spans over 35 years in industry, government, and academia, including The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, North Dakota (ND) Governor’s Council, City of Aurora, Colorado, and North Dakota State University. Beyer has an MA in Organizational Communications from the University of North Dakota. She has served on the boards of several professional organizations, including the ND Council for the Disabled, National Council of University Research Administrators, The Council for Women in Higher Education, and the Society of Research Administrators as Chair of the Board of Advisors and subsequently, President. In 2009 she served as President of the Heat Transfer Society of the United Kingdom.
