Xu Tan

Xu Tan earned a BS in Thermal Energy and Power Engineering and an MS in Power Machinery and Engineering from Dalian University of Technology in Ganjinzi, Dalian, Liaoning, China. He also earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, USA. His dissertation focused on the design and performance of gas and liquid radial turbines. He has also been a research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, and at Michigan State University. At HTRI, Tan focuses on differential condensation, heat transfer near critical pressure, and thermosiphon boiling.
