Aaron D. Smith earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas (TX), USA. During his graduate studies, which focused on biomass fermentation to make chemicals and fuels, he was the pilot plant manager of a local biomass processing facility. Smith also holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Mississippi State University, Starkville, Mississippi, USA. Before joining HTRI, he was Lead Research Scientist at Terrabon, Inc. At HTRI, his primary responsibilities are coordinating HTRI’s crude oil fouling program and running the High Temperature Fouling Units (HTFUs).
