David E. Oakley

Senior Project Engineer, Software Development

David E. Oakley has more than 20 years of experience in developing and applying process engineering software. His current work at HTRI focuses on the development of new fired heater program. Before Oakley joined HTRI, he worked at Aspen Technology, Inc. and AEA Technology, PLC, Reading, United Kingdom (UK). As the Senior Principal Engineer for Exchanger Design and Rating, Oakley was involved in the development of their suite of heat exchanger programs, and was the technical lead in developing and maintaining its integration with their process simulator. Oakley is recognized for his expertise in fired heaters. He holds a BSc and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London, UK. He is a Chartered Engineer (MIChemE).
