Holly Huellemeier

Engineer, Research

Holly Huellemeier earned her BS and PhD in Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering with a specialization in Food Engineering from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio (OH), USA. Her dissertation research focused on fouling and cleaning in ultra-high temperature (UHT) milk processing. During her graduate studies, she lectured on Heat and Mass Transfer in Biological Systems for undergraduate students and instructed short courses on food processing technologies and clean-in-place (CIP) for the FDA, state inspectors, and industry representatives. Prior to joining HTRI, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Technische Universität Braunschweig, Braunschweig, Germany in the Institute for Chemical and Thermal Process Engineering (ICTV) where she researched the mechanisms of fouling during emulsion polymerization. At HTRI, Huellemeier is involved in cooling water fouling research, non-Newtonian flow, and heat exchanger applications in the food industry.
